The Pioneer MVH‑S522BS is a single‑DIN digital‑media receiver designed to bring modern connectivity and strong audio control into vehicles that don’t require a touchscreen head unit. It features built‑in Bluetooth® for hands‑free calls and wireless music streaming, supports the Pioneer Smart Sync® app (including voice control via Amazon Alexa) for two‑way smartphone integration. On the audio side, it offers three pairs of 4‑volt preamp outputs, a built‑in MOSFET amplifier, a 13‑band graphic equaliser (expandable to 31 bands via Smart Sync), time alignment, versatile crossover settings, USB and AUX inputs, and support for high‑quality audio formats like FLAC. The faceplate is detachable for theft deterrence, and display/button illumination is customisable with over 200,000 colour combinations.

The MVH-S522BS is designed to accommodate the smartphone lifestyle. When using Pioneer Smart Sync with Amazon Alexa, it opens a new world for this digital media receiver. Using this application, you can broaden your access, whether wired or wireless. The receiver has a built-in amplifier and is equipped with three RCA pre-outs at 4V each. It features a 13-band customizable graphic equalizer, which increases to 31 bands when utilizing Pioneer Smart Sync. The crossover network can operate in either Standard Mode or Network Mode. Additional features include the Pioneer Smart Sync app with Amazon Alexa, Bluetooth®, USB direct control for iPhone®, and more.

Pioneer Smart Sync

Pioneer Smart Sync is a highly evolved app, available for both iOS and Android OS, that uses the power of a connected smartphone to expand the features and user interface of compatible Pioneer in-dash receivers. With support for either a Bluetooth® or USB connection, the link between your smartphone and the in-dash receiver can be either wired or wireless. Through Pioneer Smart Sync, you can access many popular smartphone apps for maps, messages, music, connect to an OBDII module (sold separately), and more.

Pioneer Smart Sync also functions as a powerful wireless remote control, allowing you to tune sound via the app’s touchscreen interface and save those settings directly on your smartphone.

Smartphone Control

Access music on your smartphone directly from the Pioneer receiver. Search for Artists, Albums, and Songs using Pioneer’s intuitive interface. You can also access and control select music and radio apps on your smartphone.

Bluetooth

This receiver makes hands-free phone calls simple. Pioneer’s included external microphone provides crystal clear sound. Stream music, podcasts, audiobooks, and more from your compatible phone or other Bluetooth® devices.

Siri® Eyes Free

Siri listens through the receiver’s external microphone and answers your questions and requests over the vehicle’s speakers, helping you keep your eyes on the road and your hands on the wheel.

SiriusXM Ready

Your Favorite Stations Wherever You Go, Wherever you are, this Receiver is SiriusXM- Ready® so you can get over 140 channels, including commercial-free music, plus the best sports and live events, comedy, news, exclusive talk, and entertainment. SiriusXM programming is received through the SiriusXM Connect Vehicle Tuner (SiriusXM SXV300 Tuner sold separately, SiriusXM subscription required).

USB Auto Switch

The receiver includes the USB Auto Switch feature, so when the phone is connected via USB, the listener can choose whether the receiver uses the phone as a source or just charges the device.

Wired Remote Input

This receiver integrates an input specifically designed to connect a third-party interface (optional), which allows you to retain the key functions from the steering wheel control buttons of your vehicle.

Pioneer Advanced Sound Retriever

Hear more detail, warmth, and clarity that the artist originally intended, even from compressed audio files. Whether from USB or streaming services, and regardless of the level of audio compression, Pioneer’s ASR enhances audio playback of compressed audio files by applying an algorithm to the audio signals, counteracting compression effects for more natural sound.

Flexible Audio Output Management

The Pioneer Standard (2-Way) / Network (3-Way) function allows you to divide the audio signal into different frequency bands. You can then make precise adjustments with low-pass, high-pass, and band-pass filters, as well as level, phase, and other parameters to match each speaker’s characteristics. Select STD for a Sub/Rear/Front setup, or NTW for a Low/Mid/High setup.

Audio Equalizer

The 13-band equalizer allows for detailed adjustments to your acoustic settings. Multiple EQ presets ensure even users with basic acoustic knowledge can tailor the sound to their car’s interior acoustics and speaker characteristics.

Time Alignment

This feature allows for delay time and synchronizing from each speaker to be adjusted to correct phase mismatches in the sound resulting from the listening position. Simply measure the distance between your listening position and the speakers, then enter these measurements into the Pioneer receiver.

MIXTRAX

Keep the party going with MIXTRAX®, an innovative Pioneer technology that creates a non-stop mix of your music library with DJ-inspired effects. MIXTRAX takes music from an iPhone, iPod, USB device, or certain Android devices and plays it back with added transitions and effects, creating a virtual DJ inside the receiver.

MIXTRAX also features club-style illumination, enhancing the mood with dynamic dance club-like lighting. Lights start pulsing to the beat of the music, adding extra entertainment. Choose among multiple patterns of lighting variations from sound pressure level or low-pass synchronization modes.
