About The Product

Feel the power of the Sundown SALT-3! This strappable amp delivers a massive 6,000 watts at 2 ohms when attached to another SALT-3, or pump out 3,000 watts at 1 ohm on its own. The amp features both a 24dB variable subsonic and low pass filter, along with a bass boost at 45Hz, letting you dial in your personal, perfect sound. The phase shift control makes it easy to precisely adjust the output. With onboard indicators for power, clipping, and protection you’ll have full control over your setup. Use the included wired remote control to see voltage, temperature, and clipping at a glance.

Producing optimum power at realistic voltages (the 12s, rather than needing 14+ volts), the SALT – Sundown Audio Low-Voltage Technology – is Sundown’s answer! SALT amplifiers represent the pinnacle of Korean Class-D amplifier technology. Whether you are a world-class SPL competitor or simply want to bang harder than absolutely anyone else, the SALT series will be right at home in your system.

Questions and Answers

Q1: What power output does SALT‑3 provide?
A1: SALT‑3 delivers 3,000 W RMS @ 1 Ω mono. At 2 Ω mono it delivers 1,500 W, and at 4 Ω mono 750 W. When linked/strapped with another SALT‑3, it’s rated for 6,000 W @ 2 Ω.
Q2: What filters and tuning controls come with the amp?
A2: It includes a 24 dB/octave variable low‑pass filter (35–250 Hz), a 24 dB/octave variable subsonic filter (10–50 Hz), bass‑boost (0–9 dB @ ~45 Hz), and a 0–180° phase shift control — giving flexibility for tuning subwoofers/enclosures.
Q3: What protective and build features does SALT‑3 have?
A3: It uses a Dual MOS‑FET PWM power supply, is stable down to 1 Ω, and includes a 4‑way protection circuit covering thermal protection, over/under voltage protection, speaker‑short protection, and DC‑offset protection. A wired remote control is included to monitor voltage, temperature and clipping status.
Q4: What is the frequency response and technical spec range of this amp?
A4: Frequency response: 10 Hz – 250 Hz. Input sensitivity: 0.2 V – 6 V. Signal‑to‑noise ratio ≥ 90 dB, damping factor ≥ 400, and efficiency around 90%. Operating voltage: 9 V – 15.5 V DC. Recommended fuse: 300 A. Dimensions: ~19.68″ × 8.67″ × 2.80″ (L × W × H).
Q5: Is this amp good for competition‑level bass / large subwoofer setups?
A5: Yes  because of its high power output at low impedance, 1 Ω stability, strappable capability (to 6,000 W @ 2 Ω), and flexible tuning controls, it’s suitable for heavy subwoofer loads and SPL‑style builds.
