The Sundown Audio VEX-8 is an 8-inch pro-audio midrange/mid-bass driver from the powerful VEX Series, engineered for high-output performance and SPL-oriented car audio systems. It features a rigid carbon-fiber cone, 2.5-inch voice coil, and a high-strength ferrite motor with neodymium pole cap to deliver punchy, detailed mid-bass and midrange response with excellent reliability. Rated for 300 W RMS power handling and available in 4 ohm or 8 ohm single-voice-coil (SVC) configurations, the VEX-8 offers flexible wiring options for different amplifier setups. Its vented cast frame, dual shorting rings for smooth response, and rear-vented design all contribute to efficient cooling and strong performance. With sensitivity around 94.3 dB, the VEX-8 is one of Sundown’s loudest and most capable midrange drivers, ideal for custom pods, door mounting, or mid-range upgrade applications in performance car audio installations.

About The Product
With an enormous 2.5” voice coil and a super-efficient cooling system, the VEX handles 300 watts of power with ease. We went with real carbon-fiber cone to handle high SPL systems without breakup, and achieved a 94.3dB sensitivity by combining a large diameter, high strength ferrite motor with a neodymium pole-cap magnet! A sturdy cast-aluminum frame features extensive spider cavity vents to further increase thermal power handling. The Sundown Audio VEX is one of the loudest, best sounding high-efficiency midrange drivers in existence.
