About The Product
TS-D10LB Shallow-Mount Sealed Subwoofer
There is nothing like a good subwoofer to bring out the full range and power of your favorite music. The TS-D10LB shallow-mount sealed subwoofer enclosure is perfect for areas where a 10” subwoofer will not fit. The enclosure is sized for spots as shallow as 6″ deep, so the bass you need will fit into trucks and smaller cars. Its carpet covering and steel mesh grille help protect the subwoofer and give it a clean, finished look. This subwoofer features an injection-molded polypropylene IMPP™ cone reinforced with aramid fiber, designed to remain stable even at high volume levels. The butyl rubber surround helps minimize distortion, and the stamped steel basket adds rigidity, ensuring the bass stays accurate. With up to 350 watts RMS power handling, you will have enough power to crank up the volume. Its 2-ohm voice coil allows optimization with most mono subwoofer amplifiers to obtain the best output.
Slim Enclosure
The innovative shape of the enclosure is designed to create greater rigidity and reduce internal standing waves while increasing flexibility and installation possibilities. It can be installed in the rear case, under the seats, and positioned in different ways—backwards, forwards, or upwards—for bass optimization depending on your cabin. The enclosure is fully carpeted, creating a non-slip, durable, and scratch-resistant surface.
Aramid Fiber Interlaced IMPP™
Polypropylene (PP) is a tough thermoplastic resin that is an ideal material for a speaker cone with low mass and high damping. PP cones offer good sensitivity and low distortion. However, basic raw polypropylene cones lack the rigidity and strength required for high output and extreme low bass. To resolve this, Pioneer engineers, using advanced Computer-Aided Manufacturing, developed a process to blend aramid fibers into the polypropylene resin during the injection molding process. The resulting aramid fiber interlaced IMPP™ cone is ultra-thin and low mass with high rigidity and superior strength, producing natural, detailed sound with deep and powerful bass.
Butyl Rubber Suspension
Made from a specially blended, highly durable, and moisture-resistant compound, the butyl rubber keeps the cone moving in a precise linear direction. Not only does it provide greater consistency across various excursions, but it also reduces unwanted vibration from the cone to the basket during signal changes and stops. This results in less distortion and superior bass frequency response.
Conex Meta-Aramid Fiber
Pioneer’s Conex Meta-Aramid Fiber spider design effectively supports the voice coil by damping cone vibrations and improving the linearity of sound reproduction. Its soft part ensures smooth movement and clear sound reproduction even under high power, while its firmer part controls excessive vibrations and prevents unwanted movements that cause distortion.
The design of a slim subwoofer requires a smaller distance between the front and rear suspensions (spider) of the subwoofer, reducing their effectiveness in maintaining the required linearity during low-frequency excursions. To counter this problem, Pioneer has developed a dual rear suspension design (Conex), which increases the precision of movement without increasing mechanical resistance. The goal is simple: to provide all the details of your music while offering excellent control during long excursions and maintaining a small footprint in your car.
Deep Bass
To achieve deep and tight bass, a rigid and lightweight cone is essential. However, without a proper motor structure, it’s useless if you’re looking for a good bass punch. This subwoofer uses a strontium magnet paired with a large copper voice coil and a glass-imide voice-coil former for better bass control under high excursions. This also helps achieve better heat dissipation.
