Description

Pioneer TS‑D69F

The Pioneer TS‑D69F is a 6″×9″ (≈15×23 cm) 2‑way coaxial speaker pair from the D‑Series, designed to deliver a solid upgrade over factory speakers with enhanced clarity, bass response and fidelity. It supports up to 110 W RMS (continuous) power and 330 W peak power handling. It uses an aramid‑fiber‑interlaced IMPP™ (Injection Moulded Polypropylene) cone woofer for improved rigidity and reduced distortion, paired with a swivel‑capable 26 mm polyester soft‑dome tweeter for crisp highs.  The frequency response spans approximately 33 Hz to 42‑kHz, its nominal impedance is 4 Ω, and sensitivity is about 87 dB (1W/1m). The mounting depth is around 2‑15/16″ (≈74 mm) making it suitable for many 6×9 speaker locations.

About The Product

The TS-D69F 6″x9″ coaxial speaker system provides low distortion and flawless performance, even in the harsh conditions and environments of your car doors. The D-Series woofer’s IMPP™ cone is infused with tough aramid fibers, making it both durable and incredibly responsive for enhanced bass experiences. A coated textile dome tweeter delivers excellent high-frequency performance for accurate and detailed music playback. The tweeter features a unique pivoting mount that allows you to angle it, optimizing your soundstage even if the speakers are positioned off-axis in your car.

The Perfect Match

All D-Series speakers feature the same tweeter without any alterations. From the largest component speaker set to the smallest 2-way coaxial speaker, you will get the same tweeter, ensuring perfect tonal balance throughout the car, regardless of the size of speakers required for the front and rear.

Hear More

The D-Series is the result of Pioneer’s automotive loudspeaker engineering experience and expertise, combining advanced design techniques with highly developed manufacturing capabilities. Following Pioneer’s OPEN & SMOOTH sound concept, the D-Series provides a broad and balanced frequency response with a wide sound stage and ambience. When paired with one of our Pioneer power amplifiers, these speakers will shine even brighter, delivering absolute acoustic fidelity coupled with beautiful bass extensions.

Open & Smooth

Pioneer’s OPEN & SMOOTH sound concept ensures a seamless and smooth transition between the midrange and tweeter drivers, delivering a uniform off-axis frequency response. This design is optimized for automotive applications where one or more speakers are often aimed away from the listeners’ ears.

Aramid Fiber Interlaced IMPP™

Polypropylene (PP) is a tough thermoplastic resin that is an ideal material for a speaker cone with low mass and high damping. PP cones offer good sensitivity and low distortion. However, basic raw polypropylene cones lack the rigidity and strength required for high output and extreme low bass. To resolve this, Pioneer engineers, using advanced Computer Aided Manufacturing, developed a process to blend aramid fibers into the polypropylene resin during the injection molding process. The resulting aramid fiber interlaced IMPP™ cone is ultra-thin and low mass with high rigidity and superior strength, producing natural, detailed sound with deep and powerful bass.

Tweeter – Soft Dome

Contoured from lightweight, resin-impregnated fibers of coated polyester fabric, the D tweeter delivers extended high-frequency performance. The diaphragm is highly resistant to the harsh environmental conditions of the automotive interior (temperature, humidity, vibration, etc.), while maintaining its uniform hemispherical shape to reduce dome breakup caused by excessive vibration at ultrasonic frequencies. The result is extremely low distortion levels and a smooth, natural sound.

Keep It Simple and Clean

Avoid messy installations and keep your speaker wiring as clean as possible. These speakers use an in-line crossover design and/or an integrated crossover already installed on the speaker basket. This eliminates the need for a bulky external box typically found with passive crossovers, saving you from having to find extra space for it. Additionally, it removes the need for extra wires going in and out of your door to accommodate a woofer in the door with a matching tweeter on your dash.

CarSoundfit App

Questions and Answers

Q1: What is the nominal (RMS) power rating of the TS‑D69F?
A1: It is rated at approximately 110 W RMS.
Q2: What is the maximum (peak) power handling?
A2: It supports up to 330 W peak power.
Q3: What size are these speakers and what is their impedance?
A3: They are 6″×9″ size coaxial speakers, with a nominal impedance of 4 Ω.
Q4: What is the frequency response and sensitivity of the TS‑D69F?
A4: The frequency response is about 33 Hz to 42 kHz, and sensitivity is ~87 dB (1W/1m).
Q5: Are these speakers suitable for upgrading factory systems without an amplifier?

A5: Yes — with a moderate RMS rating and standard 4 Ω impedance they will work with many factory head units. However, to fully exploit their performance (especially bass and clarity), adding an aftermarket amplifier will provide better headroom and control.
