About The Product

The TS-D69C 6″x9″ component speaker system provides low distortion and flawless performance, even in the harsh conditions and environments of your car doors. The D-Series woofer’s IMPP™ cone is infused with tough aramid fibers, making it both durable and incredibly responsive for enhanced bass experiences. A coated textile dome tweeter delivers excellent high-frequency performance for accurate and detailed music playback. The tweeter features a unique pivoting mount that allows you to angle it, optimizing your soundstage even if the speakers are positioned off-axis in your car. Flush, surface, and under-trim mounting kits offer more options for installing your tweeters.

The Perfect Match

All D-Series speakers feature the same tweeter without any alterations. From the largest component speaker set to the smallest 2-way coaxial speaker, you will get the same tweeter, ensuring perfect tonal balance throughout the car, regardless of the size of speakers required for the front and rear.

Hear More

The D-Series is the result of Pioneer’s automotive loudspeaker engineering experience and expertise, combining advanced design techniques with highly developed manufacturing capabilities. Following Pioneer’s OPEN & SMOOTH sound concept, the D-Series provides a broad and balanced frequency response with a wide sound stage and ambience. When paired with one of our Pioneer power amplifiers, these speakers will shine even brighter, delivering absolute acoustic fidelity coupled with beautiful bass extensions.

Open & Smooth

Pioneer’s OPEN & SMOOTH sound concept ensures a seamless and smooth transition between the midrange and tweeter drivers, delivering a uniform off-axis frequency response. This design is optimized for automotive applications where one or more speakers are often aimed away from the listeners’ ears.

Aramid Fiber Interlaced IMPP™

Polypropylene (PP) is a tough thermoplastic resin that is an ideal material for a speaker cone with low mass and high damping. PP cones offer good sensitivity and low distortion. However, basic raw polypropylene cones lack the rigidity and strength required for high output and extreme low bass. To resolve this, Pioneer engineers, using advanced Computer Aided Manufacturing, developed a process to blend aramid fibers into the polypropylene resin during the injection molding process. The resulting aramid fiber interlaced IMPP™ cone is ultra-thin and low mass with high rigidity and superior strength, producing natural, detailed sound with deep and powerful bass.

Tweeter – Soft Dome

Contoured from lightweight, resin-impregnated fibers of coated polyester fabric, the D tweeter delivers extended high-frequency performance. The diaphragm is highly resistant to the harsh environmental conditions of the automotive interior (temperature, humidity, vibration, etc.), while maintaining its uniform hemispherical shape to reduce dome breakup caused by excessive vibration at ultrasonic frequencies. The result is extremely low distortion levels and a smooth, natural sound.

Mounting Kit

More than any other speaker, the positioning and mounting location of the tweeter is crucial to the stereo imaging of the system and the overall listening experience. To ensure installation flexibility, the D component system tweeters are extremely compact and feature a unique swivel mount that allows precise aiming of high frequencies. Pioneer’s tri-position mounting kit (included) provides the flexibility to mount the tweeter using a variety of methods; flush mount, surface mount or bracket mount, especially important for concealing the tweeter behind an original equipment tweeter grille in the vehicle dash or door.

Keep it Simple and Clean

Avoid messy installations and keep your speaker wiring as clean as possible. These speakers use an in-line crossover design and/or an integrated crossover already installed on the speaker basket. This eliminates the need for a bulky external box typically found with passive crossovers, saving you from having to find extra space for it. Additionally, it removes the need for extra wires going in and out of your door to accommodate a woofer in the door with a matching tweeter on your dash.

CarSoundFit App

Pioneer’s Car Sound Fit app is a car sound simulator that lets you experience what your car could sound like using your own smartphone. You’ll be able to hear the difference between stock speakers and Pioneer’s various audio options, and see how the quality of Pioneer speakers can enhance your in-car experience. Questions and Answers

Q1: What is the nominal (RMS) power rating of the TS‑D69C?
A1: It is rated at 110 W RMS.
Q2: What is the peak power handling?
A2: It supports up to approximately 330 W peak power.
Q3: What size are these woofers and what is the system configuration?
A3: The woofers are 6″×9″ size, and the system is a component speaker system (includes separate tweeters).
Q4: What are the materials and design features used in this speaker system?
A4: The woofer features an aramid‑fiber interlaced IMPP™ cone for enhanced rigidity and low distortion, and the tweeter is a soft‑dome style (polyester) with a swivel mount for flexible placement.
Q5: Will these speakers work with a factory head unit or do I need an amplifier?

A5: They can work with many factory head units because of their 4 Ω impedance and moderate sensitivity (~86 dB). However, to fully exploit their performance (especially clarity and volume) adding a quality amplifier will yield better results.
