About The Product

The TS-D12D4 12″ subwoofer can handle up to 600 W RMS, delivering impressive low-frequency levels. This subwoofer features an injection-molded polypropylene IMPP™ cone infused with Aramid fibers for exceptional precision and strength. A butyl rubber surround supports the subwoofer during cone excursion, ensuring accurate, hard-hitting bass notes even when the music is turned up loud. When setting up your system, the dual 4Ω voice coils of this subwoofer provide more wiring options.

Easily Upgrade to High Performance

The D subwoofer is a culmination of Pioneer technologies that produce thick, deep, powerful, and accurate bass, making listening to your favorite music energetic, fun, and engaging. It combines bass quality and quantity with high power handling and installation flexibility, providing high performance in both acoustic suspension (sealed) and bass reflex (ported) enclosures. The D subwoofer is the ultimate all-around performer. Don’t just listen to your music—feel it.

Aramid Fiber Interlaced IMPP™

Polypropylene (PP) is a tough thermoplastic resin that is an ideal material for a speaker cone with low mass and high damping. PP cones offer good sensitivity and low distortion. However, basic raw polypropylene cones lack the rigidity and strength required for high output and extreme low bass. To resolve this, Pioneer engineers, using advanced Computer Aided Manufacturing, developed a process to blend aramid fibers into the polypropylene resin during the injection molding process. The resulting aramid fiber interlaced IMPP™ cone is ultra-thin and low mass with high rigidity and superior strength, producing natural, detailed sound with deep and powerful bass.

Butyl Rubber Suspension

Made from a specially blended, highly durable, and moisture-resistant compound, the butyl rubber keeps the cone moving in a precise linear direction. Not only does it provide greater consistency across various excursions, but it also reduces unwanted vibration from the cone to the basket during signal changes and stops. This results in less distortion and superior bass frequency response.

Meta-Aramid Fiber

Pioneer’s Meta-Aramid Fiber spider design effectively supports the voice coil by damping cone vibrations and improving the linearity of sound reproduction. Its soft part ensures smooth movement and clear sound reproduction even under high power, while its firmer part controls excessive vibrations and prevents unwanted movements that cause distortion.

Deep Bass

To achieve deep and tight bass, a rigid and lightweight cone is essential. However, without a proper motor structure, it’s useless if you’re looking for a good bass punch. A speaker motor structure consists of the voice coil and magnet assembly. Increasing the diameter and length of the voice coil provides greater control of the woofer cone and higher power handling. However, to take full advantage, the magnet must also be increased in both magnetic power and physical size. This subwoofer uses an oversized 4-layer voice coil and high-energy double-stacked magnets to increase overall power handling and SPL output, achieving great sound quality.
