Description

Pioneer TS‑A1301C

The Pioneer TS‑A1301C is a 5¼″ (13 cm) component speaker system (woofer + separate tweeter) from Pioneer’s A‑Series, designed for a clear, full‑range audio upgrade in vehicle audio systems. It supports up to 300 W peak power and is rated at 50 W RMS (nominal). The woofer uses a carbon‑ & mica‑reinforced IMPP™ cone for strength and clarity, paired with a 20 mm polyetherimide (PEI) hard‑dome tweeter that delivers crisp high‑frequency response. Its frequency response extends from approximately 42 Hz to 58 kHz, with a sensitivity of about 89 dB (1 W/1 m) and an impedance of 4 Ω, making it suitable for many aftermarket installations.

About The Product

5.25″ – 2-way, 300 W Max Power, Carbon/Mica-reinforced IMPP™ cone, 20mm PEI dome Tweeter – Component Speakers (pair)

A Series

The highly efficient design of the Pioneer A Series speakers intentionally matches the subwoofer and full-range loudspeakers to provide seamless and smooth sound characteristics, with dynamic, high-impact bass that lets you hear and feel the music. Pioneer’s OPEN & SMOOTH sound concept ensures a seamless transition between the midrange and tweeter drivers, delivering a uniform off-axis frequency response optimized for automotive applications, where one or more speakers are often aimed away from the listeners’ ears. The A Series lineup enhances audio details and improves acoustic performance.

Loud & Clear

These speakers are as efficient, if not more efficient, than the stock speakers found in typical cars on the market. They allow you to enjoy a coherent sound without missing any details and without exaggerated response, providing improved precision and more details across the entire audio bandwidth. Their high efficiency also enables you to enjoy exceptional sound from low power sources, and their ability to handle high power allows you to connect them to an external amplifier, letting them shine even more!

Open & Smooth

Pioneer’s OPEN & SMOOTH sound concept ensures a seamless and smooth transition between the midrange and tweeter drivers, delivering a uniform off-axis frequency response. This design is optimized for automotive applications where one or more speakers are often aimed away from the listeners’ ears.

Carbon and Mica reinforced IMPP™ cone

An extremely rigid yet lightweight cone is essential to avoid cone failure and distortion under high power. Pioneer’s IMPP™ composite cones meet this need perfectly. CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) was applied to create a curvilinear cone with varying thicknesses during the injection process, maintaining a balance between lightness (responsiveness) and rigidity (precise audio and tight bass). To further improve this rigidity-to-weight ratio, Pioneer uses an advanced process that integrates different materials, such as carbon and mica, which resonate at different frequencies, creating a perfectly balanced cone across the entire bandwidth.

Polyetherimide (PEI) hard dome tweeter

Polyetherimide can withstand high temperatures while maintaining stable electrical and mechanical properties over a wide frequency range. Its strength-to-weight ratio makes it ideal for high-frequency vibrations of the dome and thermal management of the voice coil. We also carefully designed this hard dome tweeter with a front diffuser to help maintain the perfect audio balance during the transition from on-axis to off-axis listening. This allows for a more balanced sound source between the different audio points in the car.

Keep it simple and clean

Avoid messy installations and keep your speaker wiring as clean as possible. These speakers use an in-line crossover design and/or an integrated crossover already installed on the speaker basket. This eliminates the need for a bulky external box typically found with passive crossovers, saving you from having to find extra space for it. Additionally, it removes the need for extra wires going in and out of your door to accommodate a woofer in the door with a matching tweeter on your dash.

CarSoundfit App

Pioneer’s Car Sound Fit app is a car sound simulator that lets you experience what your car could sound like using your own smartphone. You’ll be able to hear the difference between stock speakers and Pioneer’s various audio options, and see how the quality of Pioneer speakers can enhance your in-car experience. Questions and Answers

Q1: What is the nominal (RMS) power rating of the TS‑A1301C?
A1: The system is rated at 50 W RMS nominal power.
Q2: What is the maximum (peak) power handling?
A2: It supports up to 300 W peak power.
Q3: What size are the woofers and what is the impedance?
A3: The woofers are 5‑¼″ (13 cm) in diameter, and the system has a nominal impedance of 4 Ω.
Q4: What materials are used in the woofer and tweeter, and what benefits do they provide?
A4: The woofer uses a carbon & mica‑reinforced IMPP™ cone for high rigidity and low distortion; the tweeter uses a 20 mm PEI hard‑dome to deliver crisp high frequencies. These combine for better clarity and stronger performance compared to basic speakers.
Q5: Can this system be used as a direct upgrade in many vehicles, and what are the installation considerations?

A5: Yes — it’s designed as an upgrade component system for vehicles. Because it uses separate tweeters and an inline crossover, you’ll want to ensure proper mounting space for both woofers and tweeters and verify that your vehicle’s depth, cut‑out size and wiring permit component installation. Also, while it’s compatible with many factory head‑units due to 50 W RMS rating, adding an aftermarket amplifier will improve performance and headroom.
