The Pioneer AVH‑W4500NEX is a premium double‑DIN multimedia receiver featuring a 6.94″ motorised resistive touchscreen, designed for both modern smartphone integration and full media support. It supports both wireless and wired Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, built‑in Bluetooth® for hands‑free calling and streaming, WiFi for wireless connectivity, and full‑featured media playback including DVD/CD, USB and more. Audio‑wise, it offers six‑channel 4‑volt preamp outputs, built‑in MOSFET amplification (50 W × 4 peak), a 13‑band graphic EQ, and advanced signal processing including time alignment and high/low‑pass filters; it also includes HDMI input, dual USB ports, dual‑camera inputs and is compatible with the iDatalink Maestro® module for retaining factory vehicle functions.

Pioneer’s AVH-W4500NEX CD/DVD receiver is smartphone-capable for both wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android™ Auto. Thanks to Siri® Eyes Free, Google VR voice control, and a brilliant 7″ display, accessing your favorite media is a breeze. This receiver includes features like WebLink® to maximize your phone’s capabilities. Add an HD Radio™ tuner, SiriusXM-Ready™, and Bluetooth®, and you’ve got a receiver that covers it all.

Dual-Zone AV Management

This high-quality AV receiver also features dual-zone AV management, allowing you to provide an AV source for your rear seat passengers when your vehicle is equipped with rear seat monitors and headphones (both not included and optional), while still allowing you to listen to another AV source through the audio system’s main speakers.*

CD and DVD Player

Wireless connectivity

This Pioneer receiver supports a cable-free connection between your smartphone using built-in WiFi® and built-in Bluetooth® for wireless connectivity. It is compatible with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. You have the choice of using it wirelessly or with a wired connection.

Apple CarPlay® (Wired, Wireless)

This receiver features Apple CarPlay, the smarter, safer and more fun way to use your iPhone® in the car. Apple CarPlay gives iPhone users an incredibly intuitive way to make calls, use Maps, listen to music, and verbally send and listen to messages with just a word or a touch. Apple CarPlay requires iPhone 5 device or newer with the latest version of iOS.

Android Auto™ (Wired, Wireless)

This receiver features Android Auto, which extends the Android platform into the car in a way that’s purpose-built for driving. Android Auto automatically brings you useful information and organizes it into simple cards that appear just when they’re needed. It’s designed to minimize distraction so you can stay focused on the road ahead. Android Auto is compatible with Android phones running Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or later. Android Auto may not be available on all Android smartphones.

Weblink® Smartphone Interface (Wired)

WebLink enables smartphone app projection from many popular Android® and iOS® devices to in-vehicle touch displays. WebLink for Pioneer AV receivers expands in-car entertainment with an amazing array of apps.

Pioneer Vozsis with Alexa app

Invite Amazon’s versatile voice assistant into your car with a WebLink-compatible Pioneer in-dash multimedia receiver and the Vozsis with Alexa app. With a tap of the touchscreen and your voice, access Amazon Prime Music, Audible audiobooks, your Kindle library, Flash Briefings, and more to stay informed and entertained during your drive.

Bluetooth

This receiver makes hands-free phone calls simple. Pioneer’s included external microphone provides crystal clear sound. Stream music, podcasts, audiobooks, and more from your compatible phone or other Bluetooth® devices.

Siri® Eyes Free – touchscreen

Simply touch a NEX touchscreen and Siri listens through the NEX unit’s external microphone and answers requests over the vehicle’s speakers, helping you keep your eyes on the road and your hands on the wheel. (For select iPhones.)

Back up camera input (2-camera)

This receiver integrates an input specifically designed to connect a third-party interface (optional) which will allow you to keep the key functions from the steering wheel control buttons of your vehicle. (if applicable)

iDataLink Maestro (RR & RR2)

Universal Radio Replacement Interface. The Maestro RR and RR2 connect to iDatalink-compatible radios to enhance your multimedia experience with exclusive gauges, vehicle information, parking assistance, climate control, and radar detection screens. Pioneer’s NEX in-dash receivers were the first in the industry to offer playback of files encoded as high-res FLAC up to 192kHz/24 bit and provide playback output at CD quality. Pioneer Advanced Sound Retriever

Hear more detail, warmth, and clarity that the artist originally intended, even from compressed audio files. Whether from USB or streaming services, and regardless of the level of audio compression from your lossy music sources, Pioneer’s ASR enhances audio playback of compressed audio files, such as MP3s, by applying an algorithm to the audio signals. This counteracts the compression effects, providing a more detailed and natural sound.

Flexible Audio Output Management

The Pioneer Standard (2-Way) / Network (3-Way) function allows you to divide the audio signal into different frequency bands. You can then make precise adjustments with low-pass, high-pass, and band-pass filters, as well as level, phase, and other parameters to match the characteristics of each speaker unit. Select STD for a Sub/Rear/Front setup, or NTW for a Low/Mid/High setup.

Audio Equalizer

The 13-band equalizer allows for detailed adjustments to your acoustic settings. This lets you tailor the equalization to match your car’s interior acoustics and speaker characteristics as desired. Multiple EQ presets ensure that even users with basic acoustic knowledge can learn and enjoy the benefits of using an equalizer.

Time alignment

This feature allows for delay time and synchronizing from each speaker to be adjusted to correct any phase mismatches in the sound resulting from the listening position. No need for any acoustics degree to do the job, simply measure the distance between your listening position and the speakers, then enter these measurements into the Pioneer receiver.
